EPOS for phone and device retailers

Fixory is EPOS for UK phone and device retailers: sell devices and accessories at the till, buy devices in or take them in part exchange, and keep your stock right.

The New sale screen: products to search or scan, each with its price and stock, one flagged Low with 3 left, beside the current sale of a clear case and a tempered glass, £22.49 in total, paid by card

A day in your shop

  1. Open your till

Each member of staff opens their own till.

  2. Sell at the counter

Scan to the basket, or scan a phone's IMEI to sell that exact unit, and split the payment across methods if you need to.

  3. Take a part exchange

Take the customer's old device against the sale, with the balance settled either way.

  4. Buy a device in

Record the seller's details and your checks, and the device goes into your used stock.

  5. Order stock

Raise a purchase order, and receive it in part or in full.

  6. Close your till

Closing it compares the cash counted with the amount expected.

Fixory records card payments but doesn't process them; use your existing card machine.

Sales, refunds and receipts

Every sale is kept in a searchable sales history with its items, payments and refunds.

  • Refund against the original sale, in part or in full, and the stock goes back.
  • Print receipts from the browser or email them to the customer.
  • Discounts need permission and a reason, and both are recorded.
  • Once you're VAT-registered, the VAT on each line is worked out for you and shown on the receipt.

More about point of sale

Today's payments by method: £117.45 in total, £87.46 by card (74%) and £29.99 in cash (26%)

Used stock from trade-ins

Devices you buy in go into your used stock, and part exchanges settle the balance either way.

  • Record the seller's ID type, a partial reference, the result of your IMEI check and their signed declaration.
  • Reverse a trade-in or part exchange if it needs to be undone.
  • Sell used phones on the VAT margin scheme if you choose to. Fixory keeps the stock book and works out the VAT on the margin.
  • Add refurbishment costs, such as a new screen or battery, and see each phone's real cost and profit before you price it.

The acquisition history: an Apple iPhone 12 bought from Tom Hughes for £180.00, acquired and available in stock, with its used-stock SKU and barcode, and Print record, Print stock label and Return / reverse buttons

Stock that adds up

Every stock change records who made it and why.

  • Products at or below their minimum level are flagged as low stock.
  • Generate barcodes for your own products and print barcode labels.
  • Import products from a CSV or Excel file, with a preview first.
  • Keep every phone as its own unit, by IMEI or serial number, from the day it arrives to the day it's sold.

Good to know

  • Running several shops? Fixory Business groups them into one organisation, with Fixory Pro in every shop, though each shop keeps its own stock.
  • It doesn't connect to e-commerce services.
  • Fixory doesn't work out VAT return figures or send returns to HMRC.

Common questions

Can I scan barcodes at the till?

Yes. Scanning a product's barcode adds it straight to the basket. You can also generate barcodes for your own products and print labels.

Can I run more than one shop?

Yes, with Fixory Business. Your shops are grouped into one organisation, each keeping its own records, and staff can work across them with one sign-in. Stock stays with each shop: it isn't shared or moved between shops. Only shops owned by the same business can be grouped, so franchises can't join yet.

What if the device I take in is worth more than the sale?

A part exchange can be settled either way, so the balance can be paid by you or by the customer.

Can I sell to trade customers?

Yes, with Fixory Pro. It adds trade accounts with credit limits and payment terms, your own trade prices, quotes and orders invoiced to the account, and statements and payment reminders.

Does Fixory work out VAT?

Yes, once you're VAT-registered. Fixory works out the VAT on each line of a sale, shows it on the receipt and gives your accountant the records. It doesn't work out VAT return figures or send returns to HMRC.
